i wanna learn piano, only problem. I'm 17.?

I think im kinda too old to learn it, but ive been wanting to learn it
for the longest time... ive just been too scared to ask my parents...
i have my own money now and i could pay for my lessons. Its just im
17.
Also i dont have a piano of my own... but im sure if i really like it,
my parents would buy me one.

what should i do? go for it? or leave it?
